Chapter 20

The electromagnetic beam hit the war scythe like a streak of lightning bolt.

A powerful force engulfed Victor like a storm, forcing him to take a couple of steps back.

The scythe hadn’t been able to fully absorb the impact of the electromagnetic beam, with some energy moving past it and slithering around Victor’s arms.

Once his arms were wrapped in this energy, they felt constrained and sluggish.

But that was all.

“Is that it? My turn.”

Although his arms were slowed down by the electromagnetic effect, Victor could still swing his war scythe.

He swung it hard, and the war scythe slashed towards the mutant with a sharp swish.

At this point, the mutant was exhausted, having exerted all of its energy to unleash the electromagnetic beam.

He could not dodge.

Victor was so fast that even if the mutant was at full power, it couldn’t escape the wrath of his scythe.

With a single strike, the mechanical deer was cleaved in two and met its demise.

Victor strode over to collect the Source Crystal that had burst forth from the remains of the mechanical deer.

However, he ended up feeling a bit disappointed. Although the crystal shone dazzlingly, it was only advanced- grade. He was hoping it would be epic-grade because the mutated mechanical deer actually possessed a skill.

“Bro, you’re amazing,” Terrence interjected at an inopportune moment.

Terrence actually didn’t want to disturb Victor. If he could, he would have teleported away.

Unfortunately, he didn’t possess that skill.

Thus, rather than waiting for Victor to notice him, he figured it was better to proactively offer some flattering

words.

“Now it’s your turn. What can you offer in exchange for your life?”

Victor slowly turned, and while he didn’t exude any particularly strong aura, Terrence still felt an overwhelming

pressure.

What could he offer?

The recently dead mutated mechanical deer lost its life precisely because it couldn’t offer anything of value.

“I… I have some good stuff,” Terrence hurriedly spoke, fearing the war scythe might fall on him if he were too slow to answer.

Victor remained silent, his blue gaze fixed on Terrence.

Terrence, feeling the weight of that gaze, spoke nervously, “Besides the Source Crystal I told you about, I also have a nice piece of equipment.”

“Let me see.”

Victor would assess the quality of the equipment himself. If Terrence was lying, he wouldn’t mind teaching Terrence a lesson.

Terrence was reluctant, but to save his life, he could only comply. He opened up his mecha’s torso to pull out a shimmering purple cargo pod.

“This is an epic Ion Reinforced Cargo Pod. It has a massive internal storage space. I got it from an epic Source Crystal.”

He actually didn’t even have to explain. Victor could already tell that the cargo pod was a quality item the moment he laid eyes on it.

“So… can I use this to trade fou

my life?”

Terrence looked uncertainly at Victor.

“Yes.”

Victor didn’t betray his excitement. His response was rather flat.

Hearing Victor’s affirmative answer, Terrence sighed in relief.

He then obediently stepped forward to hand the cargo pod to Victor.

A seventeen-meter mecha bowing to a twelve-meter mecha was quite a bizarre sight. It was akin to a middle school student respectfully handing snacks to an elementary school student,

Victor casually placed the cargo pod in the designated space within his mecha.

His mecha did not contain a cargo pod originally, so this saved him the hassle of replacing it.

“Ding! Equipped epic Ion Reinforced Cargo Pod. Combat power +20.”

All equipment provided combat power, regardless of the type.

While an increase of 20 points, was somewhat meager, it was better than nothing. Besides, a cargo pod was merely an internal storage equipment. Its primary function was to store items.
