Chapter 162
Without wasting another moment, Kane reared back before snapping his hips forward, setting a fierce pace. There was hardly any discomfort, only that familiar, delectable pressure that began thrumming in my lower abdomen.
As I began to match his frantic rhythm, he grabbed for my breasts once more. He massaged and rubbed, slightly pinching each nipple. The perfect balance of pleasure and pain. Something I never would have imagined.
“Oh, Gods,” I cried out.
I grasped his arms, pulling him down so I could kiss him. My hands sank into his thick hair, allowing him to swallow every moan he wrung from me.
Kane quickened his pace; the intensity brought tears to my eyes. He growled low in his throat. “Fuck, that’s it,” he urged roughly. “You take me so well. I knew you would.”
“K-Kane,” I whimpered.
“I can feel how close you are,” he hummed. “Come for me. Be a good girl and come for me.”
His words were my undoing. I felt like I’d been launched over a cliff, desperately hurtling into space. I choked out a cry as my whole body tensed.
Kane clenched his jaw, continuing to frantically thrust against me. He dragged out my orgasm for several long seconds. With an animalistic snarl, I felt him spill inside of me. My head fell back against the pillow as his muscles gave out.
He collapsed beside me as the two of us caught our breath. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a soft, boyish smile curl his lips.
Kane cupped my cheek and pulled me in for one last lingering kiss. “How are you feeling?”
“Good,” I breathed. “I…I never thought it would feel so intense. I feel so complete.”
His gaze searched my face, as though he were studying every detail. “You are more than I ever could have imagined for myself,” he said.
My eyes grew wide. I was so stunned over his confession that all I could do was press my lips to his.
“I’m glad that I waited,” I told him. “And, I’m glad that my first real time was with you.”
Suddenly, I found it difficult to keep my eyes open. I heard Kane chuckle. He wrapped a supportive arm around my waist, tucking me close to his side.
“Sleep,” he said. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”
Just as I let my eyes close, I was out cold.

Knock! Knock! Knock!
Immediately, I was torn from my sleep and shot up from my pillow. I let out a breathless gasp to find the room still dark. Kane grumbled and cursed beside me, having been unlawfully roused from his deep sleep as well.
He threw on a pair of sleeping shorts, trudged across the room, and swung the door open to reveal Henri.
“What?” he barked angrily.
“Apologies for disturbing your rest, Alpha, but I wanted to pass on this message as soon as it came in,”
Henri announced.
“Go on,” Kane prompted.
“After last night, all the neighboring packs have come to an agreement that they cannot go on with letting the rogues continue causing chaos and destruction. It’s been found out that the rogues have been gathering in the South-West territory.”
“Do they know how many rogues we may be up against?”
Henri gently shook his head, seeming a little unsure. “From what they’ve gathered, their numbers aren’t as large as they make themselves out to be. However, they’re unlike anything they’ve ever dealt with
before.”
“That’s true,” Kane muttered. “They don’t need a high number of their own when a feral rogue can take on four normal wolves.”
My heart sank into my stomach. What was left of my blissful evening with Kane turned cold. Reality came flooding back, and once the sun lifted upon the horizon, I knew I would be back in those archives, searching eagerly for a possible cure.
