Chapter 7
Olivia was terrified. She fled without looking back.
Ethan drank himself into a stupor, muttering apologies to me.
“Vivian, you’re so cruel. Leaving me here all alone.”
“Vivian, I shouldn’t have treated you that way. If you just come back, I’ll give you anything you want. Anything.”
A man over six feet tall, reduced to hugging a wine bottle and crying uncontrollably.
I frowned as I watched him. He was nothing but a hypocrite.
He didn’t cherish me when I was alive. Only now that I was dead did he realize my worth.
The next moment, Ethan’s eyes suddenly snapped open. He stared directly at where I was standing,
“Vivian, is that you?”
He reached out to touch me, but found nothing,
The flicker of hope in his eyes faded.
“So you still blame me, don’t you?”
His gaze dropped to the shattered cup beside him. He picked up a piece, weighing it in his hand.
“If I die, will I be able to see you?”
I knew he wouldn’t die. The Pierce family’s bodyguards wouldn’t let him.
A moment later, his mother’s maid came to summon him.
“Ethan, your mother is waiting for you.”
He still held the shard of glass, his eyes red as he scolded her.
“Didn’t I say no one was to disturb me? Get out!”
The maid was unafraid. She left the room and returned moments later.
This time, she was accompanied by Mrs. Pierce, who looked furious.
“You are the head of Pierce Industries. Are you going to kill yourself over that woman? What kind of behavior is that?”
Ethan stared blankly at his mother, still arguing.

After he left. Mrs. Pierce sighed quietly.
“If I’d known it would come to this, I should have protected one of the children. Would have saved myself the trouble of
dealing with him now.”
The maid heard this but didn’t dare respond.
