Chapter 15
The surprise disappeared from Vincent’s face. He went back to looking cold and blank.

After dinner, some of Queenie’s coworkers wanted to go to the nightclub.
Queenie wasn’t into it, so she said no. She figured she’d feel awkward and maybe ruin everyone’s fun, so she decided to go home instead.
She’d had a good birthday. She’d had a few drinks and was feeling a little tipsy, so when she got home, she went upstairs and took a hot shower. That helped clear her head.
Back in bed, she checked her phone and saw some messages in her old class group chat.
[Don’t forget about the teacher appreciation giveaway next week!]
[How could we forget? Mr. Grant is actually coming this time. Honestly, we only get to see him because of that one senior. Otherwise, we’d never have a chance.]
Queenie knew all about the teacher appreciation giveaway. It happened every year, and it was also basically a class reunion, but she’d never joined for once.
After marrying Vincent, she put all her energy into her family. When she finally wanted to reconnect, she felt out of place. She was surprised to hear her mentor would be there this year.
Someone tagged Queenie in the group chat.
[@Queenie, are you skipping again this year? Mr. Grant is actually coming!]
Queenie: [Is it next Saturday or Sunday?]
As soon as Queenie replied, the group chat blew up.
[Whoa, Queenie, you finally said something. We thought you disappeared for good.]
[Queenie, are you really coming to the teacher appreciation giveaway this year?]
[Queenie, what have you been up to all these years? Someone said you got married. Is that true?]
Queenie read through the messages, but she didn’t reply. She knew some people wanted to see her, while others were waiting to see her fail.
Someone in the group finally answered her. [@Queenie, it’s this Saturday. That’s the only day Mr. Grant can make it.]
Queenie: [Got it.] After getting the info she needed, she exited the chat. If her mentor was coming, she actually wanted to see him.
Right then, a notification popped up on her phone. It read: [Vivian and StarVision Media CEO Vincent seen together at Riverside Restaurant!]
The photo was blown up for everyone to see. Even though it was their backs, it was obvious who they were, standing super close, looking like they belonged together.
Queenie tapped the link, and suddenly the entertainment news was flooded with posts and videos about Vivian and Vincent.

In the video, Vincent and Vivian were looking at each other. Vincent’s face was soft, and Vivian had her hand on his arm as they got into the car.
The comments were full of fans shipping them, saying they looked perfect together.
Queenie scrolled through. These stories came out like clockwork, every single month for the past two years.
Neither StarVision Media nor Vincent ever bothered to respond. Like people joked online, staying quiet was the same as saying yes.
Then a message from Vivian came through. [Queenie, look! This is the birthday gift Vincent gave me. Beautiful, right? I told him it was your birthday too, so he should get you something.]
Queenie opened it and saw Vivian showing off her present.
Vivian: [Oh, and this one was from Archie. He said it took him a whole week to put together. Did he get you anything for your birthday?]
Queenie looked at the Lego set, her hand squeezing the phone tighter. She knew what Vivian was doing, trying to get under her skin and make her act like a jealous wife.
