Chapter 17

Vincent never paid attention to this stuff before. It was pocket change, and Queenie was always good with money. But lately, he’d been shopping way more than usual.

He suddenly wanted to look into it. ‘I can check those notifications and see what she’s buying, he thought.

Vincent, great news!” Vivian walked in with a big smile.

Vincent was about to tap on the notifications when Vivian came in, so he quickly put his phone down.

Vivian said excitedly, “Vincent, I just heard the 2005 grads from Ravesdale University’s School of Medicine are having a eacher appreciation giveaway for their professor next Saturday.

I graduated in 2005, too, but I was in the School of Performing Arts. I still know some people from the School of Medicine, hough. Their professor is William Grant.

Mr. Grant hasn’t been seen in public for years, but this time he’s actually showing up because one of his favorite students is coming back. Mr. Grant and Professor Emerson from the N&Q Institute are really close.

If we can get Mr. Grant to introduce us, we might finally get to meet Professor Emerson.”

Back in college, Vivian and Queenie went to the same university and even shared a dorm, though they were in different programs. They were friends, so Vivian got to know some med students. She’d stayed in touch over the years. Now it was paying off.

Who would’ve thought the med school star would end up as a useless housewife?’ Vivian thought, hearing Queenie was going, too. Honestly, I can’t believe Queenie has the nerve to show her face at the teacher appreciation giveaway!

‘Do you think they’ll actually let us join?” Vincent asked, sounding skeptical. He knew med students. No matter which year, hey kept to themselves and rarely let outsiders in.

Vivian said, “I’m pretty close with some of them. They said I could come, and I’ll try to talk to Mr. Grant privately.”

She was a big name in entertainment now. No matter how well-known William was, he couldn’t match her fame. He’d definitely show her respect. Plus, Vincent was the CEO of StarVision Media, and William wouldn’t dare turn him down.

No one wanted to get tangled up in bad press. It was asking for trouble. Besides, all William had to do was make an introduction. It was an easy favor, and he’d be doing them a big one.

‘Alright, thanks for going through all this trouble. If you pull this off, tell me what you want, and I’ll make it happen,” Vincent promised.

Vivian blushed and said, “Vincent, I’m glad that I can help.”

‘Vivian, don’t forget your place, You saved my life, and everything I’ve done is repaying that debt,” Vincent reminded her coldly.

Vivian’s smile froze instantly, her hands clenching into fists at her sides. “I get it. You don’t need to keep reminding me. If that’s all, I’ll get back to work.”

“Go ahead,” Vincent replied.

Seeing his cold attitude, Vivian knew better than to stay and quietly left. The moment she stepped out, her expression changed completely.

What’s so special about Queenie anyway? She’s just a nobody stuck at home. She’s nothing compared to me,’ Vivian thought, lready looking forward to the teacher appreciation giveaway on Saturday.

The class genius everyone used to admire? Now she’s stuck at home cooking and cleaning,’ Vivian thought. ‘I can’t wait to ee how Queenie embarrasses herself at the party.’
