Right after ending her call with Trevor, both the Lockets and Shaws called Wynn again, asking for updates on Trevor and Celeste’s divorce.
She told them about Lincoln and Queenie’s accident. The expressions of both families changed immediately after hearing that.
Then they hurriedly asked, “So, did Trevor and Celeste divorce?” 4
Wynn replied, “I don’t know, but most likely not.”
As much as she hated to admit, judging by the timing, Trevor had probably received news of the accident before he could make it to the courthouse.
The Lockets and Shaws didn’t expect that after waiting and hoping for so long, it would all come to nothing again. 1
“How did this happen?” 2
Linda was so angry that she stomped her foot. “Exactly!” 2
After Celeste finished her meeting at around noon, she remembered Lincoln and Queenie’s accident and was just about to call Jordyn when Kieran walked over.
“Want to grab lunch together?”
Celeste was about to answer him when her phone rang. She knew it was Trevor from the number.
So, she nodded to Kieran and stepped a little away from him to answer the call.
“How are your parents doing now?”
On the other end, Trevor said, “They just came out of the emergency room not long ago. Both of them have multiple serious injuries. They’re stable for now, but still not out of danger yet. Especially my father -his injuries are more severe than my mother’s.” 1
Celeste paused for a moment before replying with a hum as acknowledgement.
It was only then that Trevor explained why he had called.
“My sister and I will be staying at the hospital to look after them. Grandma’s not in a very good state now I tried to persuade her to go home and rest, but she refused to listen.
“Jo is still young, so it’s not convenient for her to stay at the hospital too long. Would it be convenient for you to come over?” 1
Martha was clearly in a terrible state. If this continued, she might collapse first before there was even any news about Lincoln and Queenie. 1

At her age, it could become a serious issue if she really became sick.
After listening to Trevor’s words, Celeste agreed, “Okay.”
“Thank you.”
Celeste didn’t say anything else.
After hanging up, she looked at Kieran, who had been waiting not far from her.
“Sorry, something came up. I need to go to the hospital. Let’s do lunch another time.”
Kieran immediately asked, “Did something serious happen? Do you want me to go with you?” ?
“It’s not my own matter. I can handle it.”
Celeste didn’t explain further. She returned to her office after that to grab her keys before heading out.
She finally arrived at the hospital nearly an hour later.
Trevor hadn’t exaggerated–Martha looked terrible. Her complexion was pale, and she looked far more haggard than before.
She seemed to want to smile when she saw Celeste, but couldn’t quite manage it. Instead, she reached out and took Celeste’s hand. Then she glanced at Trevor beside her before saying to Celeste, “Cel, it’s thoughtful of you to come over.”
She wasn’t senile. She knew perfectly well that Trevor was the one who had called Celeste over. 1
The fact that Celeste could set aside all the unpleasantness between herself and Trevor, and come over specifically to accompany and comfort her, was something Martha appreciated.
As for her grandson…
The fact that he had still specifically called Celeste and asked her to come over, even though he was on the verge of divorcing her, meant that he knew in his heart that Celeste was truly a good person and that she would definitely come.
But right now, Martha was in no mood to say any of that.
Jordyn also knew that something serious could happen to Lincoln and Queenie. However, she was still a child and was feeling frightened. So the moment she saw Celeste, she threw herself into Celeste’s arms.
Trevor said to Martha, “Go home and get some rest. I’ll let you know immediately if there’s any good
