Chapter 515
When Matthew arrived at the Zamora family estate, it was bustling with activity.
Garret’s parents had rushed back from abroad to be with Harris, and had been staying at the estate for a while
Daron and Marina were also there.
Harris was sitting on the sofa, chatting with his son-in-law.
As soon as Matthew walked in, Harris greeted him with a warm wave.
“Matthew, you’re back?” Harris called out.
Matthew nodded and took a seat beside Harris.
Garret’s dad gave Matthew a friendly greeting.
Matthew returned the smile and struck up some casual conversation.
Daron and Marina had some things to take care of, so they left the estate soon after.
Garret had been living at Harris’s place these days, so he stuck around.
Matthew kept a calm and confident look on his face as he faced Garret’s parents.
Noticing Matthew hadn’t explained why he’d come, Harris gently nudged the conversation forward.
‘Matthew, what brings you by today? Did you hear Garret’s folks were back and decide to stop in?” Harris asked.
Matthew smiled and nodded.

“It’s been a long time since Garret and Seliv came home. I heard they were back, so I wanted to drop by and see everyone,” Matthew said.
Harris said quietly, “Garret’s always swamped with work. He only managed to come back this time after hearing about the case involving him and the Zamora Group.”
“Carret’s got a busy job, you know. He only came back because of that Zamora Group case,” Harris explained.
Matthew’s face shifted, showing a hint of awkwardness, and he quickly spoke up.
“Harris, honestly, Daron’s just taking this way too seriously, I’ve already had a word with him,” Matthew said.
“You know how he is, always stubborn, never lets go of his principles,” he added.
“It’s a family issue, but he just had to drag it into court. I’m stuck in the middle here, and that kid insists he’s only just taken charge. If he doesn’t handle stuff like this, he won’t be able to command respect from everyone,” Matthew explained.
“With the Zamora Group being so huge, if everyone starts pulling stunts like this, it’ll be a nightmare to manage. Who knows how much the Zamora Group could lose down the line,” Matthew said.
“Harris, I hope you can see where I’m coming from,” Matthew said.
“Really sorry about all this, Garret, Seliv,” he added.

Garret’s dad, sitting on the other sofa, jumped in right after Matthew finished speaking.
‘Matthew, you’re not wrong.” he said.

“If Garret really broke the law, then sure, he should be punished. But if he didn’t, then it’s a whole different matter,” he added.
Matthew let out a soft sigh and said, “Garret grew up right under my nose. I know him better than anyone.”
“If you ask me, this whole thing probably has more to do with Zara,” Matthew added.
Garret snorted coldly at Matthew’s words, his tone full of sarcasm.
Matthew looked genuinely troubled.
“Garret, I know you’ve had a rough time lately. I’ll go put in a good word for you with Daron and see if I can keep this out of court,” Matthew said.
“But even if we don’t end up in court, this can’t just be swept under the rug. You’ve got to give me some solid evidence so I can show everyone you’re innocent. That way, we can finally kick out the troublemaker who’s been messing with the Zamora family and the Zamora Group,” he added.
It was obvious Matthew was talking about Zara.
Garret replied immediately, “Matthew, wasn’t it Daron who personally hired Zara for the Zamora Group? She’s been in the spotlight lately, everyone sees her as a key player in the company. You really think it’ll be that easy to kick her out?”
Matthew replied firmly, “She set you up. There’s no way we’re just going to let that slide.”
‘She’s way too cunning. Someone like her can’t stay at the Zamora Group and stir up trouble in our family,” he added.
Garret raised an eyebrow but stayed silent.
Matthew leaned in, his voice gentle but earnest.
“Garret, walk me through exactly what happened that day. I’ll make sure everyone knows you’re innocent,” Matthew said.
“And if you’ve got any evidence, bring it to me. I’ll have your back,” he added.
Garret shook his head.
‘I don’t have any evidence,” he said.
“This whole thing was a perfectly crafted trap to ruin me. Do you really think I’d have any evidence left?” Garret added, his voice tinged with sarcasm.
Matthew’s face grew serious as he turned to Seliv and Garret’s dad.
“This is really tricky,” he said.
“But no matter what, we won’t let Garret go to jail. I’ll do my best to convince Daron to drop the charges,” Matthew added.
Harris nodded, then looked at Matthew seriously and said,
“Matthew, I’m trusting you with this,” Harris said.

Matthew got up from his seat, flashing Harris a warm smile.

“Harris, don’t be so polite! Garret’s like a grandson to me. I’d never just sit back and let family turn against each other. Besides, you and I are real brothers, aren’t we?” Matthew said.
Harris gave a soft hum and said, “It’s good to see you haven’t forgotten our brotherhood. Once this is all settled, I’ve got a few things I want to go over with you. Make sure you and Martin come by together.”
Matthew gave a nod and headed out of the Zamora family estate.
As Seliv walked Matthew out, she looked really anxious and worried.
‘Matthew, I’m really counting on you for this. Garret’s dad and I just didn’t know what else to do, so we came back as soon as we could, terrified something might happen to Garret,” Seliv said.
‘Honestly, I don’t know how I’d cope if something happened to Garret,” she added.
As she spoke, Seliv gently wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye.
Matthew hurried to reassure her.
Seliy, it’s gonna be fine. We’re family. No way we’d ever send one of our own to jail,” he said.
I’m heading back right now to give that brat Daron a good talking-to,” Matthew added.
Seliv thanked Matthew profusely and personally saw him off to his car.
Once Matthew was in the car, he gestured for Seliv to head back inside.
As the car pulled away, Matthew kept his eyes on Seliv until she was out of sight.
Seliv always acted like she was above it all in the Zamora family, never letting anyone see her vulnerable side. But just now, he totally broke down, and it was real, not an act.
The last time they came back because Garret was hurt, they even invited everyone over to the estate for dinner.
But this time, they slipped back into the country without a word. If Matthew hadn’t bumped into them at the estate today, he wouldn’t have even known they were back.
It looked like they really were at their wit’s end.
Recently, negative news about the Zamora Group’s branches kept popping up.
None of it was really serious, just enough to keep everyone distracted. Most likely, Daron was behind it, just trying to mess with their heads.
Daron must really be out of tricks now.
Martin’s move was actually pretty clever. If he can’t get to Daron, he’ll just target the people close to him.
Matthew leaned back in his seat, pulled out his phone, and dialed Martin.
“I think your plan is workable. Go ahead and carry it out just as we discussed,” Matthew said.
Martin’s voice lit up with excitement when he picked up.

Matthew didn’t share what he’d learned. He just said seriously, “No news, but you need to be as cautious as possible with this. Triple-check everything.”
Martin replied, “Of course.”
At the Zamora family estate, Seliv lingered at the doorway, her gaze fixed on Matthew’s car as it rolled away.
She didn’t move, just kept watching until the car finally disappeared down the drive.
