Elara was helping Elnora into the car when she spotted him and softly called out, “Elnora…”

Elnora followed Elara’s gaze and saw Albert getting out of his car, his expression calm and distant. She simply looked away.
She bent down and got into the car, not sparing him another glance.
Daron was holding Marina’s hand as they walked behind. When Marina saw Albert, her gaze turned cold.
“Why are you still here? The show’s over, and everyone’s gone,” Marina said with a sharp tone.
A hint of guilt flashed in Albert’s eyes at her words. He lowered his head and murmured, “I’m sorry.”
With that, he started walking toward Elnora.
Elara slid into the seat next to Elnora and closed the car door behind her.
Albert walked over and leaned in, speaking quietly to Elnora in the back seat.
“Sorry you had to face all this by yourself. It all happened so fast,” Albert said, his voice low and full of regret.
Elnora had already heard some of the details from Kaelin earlier.
Stella had been hit by a car and was pretty badly hurt. As the host of the banquet, Albert naturally had to go check on her.
“It’s fine,” Elnora replied, her tone calm.
“Is Ms. Taylor feeling any better?” she asked, her voice flat.
When Elnora asked about Stella, her face showed no emotion, as if she were discussing just another guest.
Albert looked at her striking features, fell silent for a moment, then nodded.
“She’s doing better,” he said.
Elnora just gave a quiet “Okay” in response.
“Glad she’s doing better. I doubt she’d want me to visit, so could you let her know I wish her well?” Elnora said, her voice flat.
Albert didn’t respond.
Elnora looked away from him and spoke softly.
“I’m exhausted after standing all day, so I’m heading home to rest.”

Albert remained standing there, watching until Elnora’s car disappeared from sight.
Reese handled the aftermath and strode out of the hotel. When she spotted Albert, she marched right over and yanked his ear.
“You little brat! Do you even know what day it is? Why were you the one taking her to the hospital? Was the whole Taylor Family missing in action or what?” Reese snapped.
Albert didn’t fight back, just let Reese scold him, a cocky grin playing on his lips.
“Mom, chill out. Elnora didn’t even say anything, so why are you getting so worked up?” he teased.
Reese gritted her teeth, her face cold as she glared at Albert.
“You’ve got some nerve bringing up Elnora! Elnora’s being generous by not making a fuss, but that doesn’t mean you get to act like an idiot today,” she snapped.
“Honestly, I think you’re just trying to drive me crazy,” she added.
Albert let out a snort. “Come on, Mom, I wouldn’t dare drive you crazy. You’re still waiting for your grandkid, aren’t you?”
But then he remembered the way Elnora had looked at him earlier, so cold and distant.
“I’m heading home to make it up to my wife. I’m going to do my best so you can hold your grandkid in ten months,” he said with a smirk.
With that, Albert freed his ear from Reese’s grip, opened the car door, and got
Reese shot him a frosty look.
“Albert, take my advice. Get your act together and come home, or you’ll end up losing everything,” she warned.
Albert gave a nonchalant raise of his eyebrow, started the engine, and pulled away.
When Elnora went back to their wedding room, Elara helped her upstairs and gently took down her wedding hairstyle.
Elnora didn’t say a word the whole time.
Elara could sense Elnora was upset, so she stayed quiet too.
Elnora glanced away from her own reflection in the mirror and spoke softly to Elara.
“Elara, thank you for all your help today. I’ll have the driver take you back to the hotel so you can get some rest,” she said.

Elara nodded. “Alright, make sure you take care of yourself,” she replied.
Elnora nodded and walked Elara downstairs to see her off.
As Elara was leaving, she bumped into Albert at the doorway.
She snorted coldly at him and hurried off.
Albert was left speechless.
When Elnora saw him, she didn’t even acknowledge him and went straight upstairs.
Albert hurried after her and called out, “There’s another party tonight. Kaelin and the others are waiting for us. I’m here to take you over.”
Elnora was already halfway up the stairs, but stopped when she heard him.
“I’m exhausted, so I’m skipping it,” she said, her voice flat.
“Enjoy yourselves.”
With those words, Elnora stepped into the master bedroom without looking back.
Albert stood quietly downstairs, saying nothing.
Elnora was in the room, taking off her makeup, when she heard the sound of a car leaving downstairs, Albert’s
car.
Her expression grew distant, and her hands froze for a second. But soon enough, she sped up, determined to finish wiping away the remnants of her wedding day.
It was the middle of the night when Albert finally wrapped up his guys’ night and returned to the bridal suite.
His buddies had been planning to play some pranks in the bridal suite, but as soon as they stepped inside and saw the chilly atmosphere-plus all the drama from earlier-they quickly lost their enthusiasm.
After dropping Albert off, they slipped out one by one.
Albert raised an eyebrow as he watched them scurry off, tails between their legs.
‘Is Elnora really that much of a terror?’ Albert mused.
‘Anyone who didn’t know us would think I married a she-devil, he thought wryly.
He headed upstairs alone, and when he reached the master bedroom, he was about to open the door, only to find it locked from the inside.
‘Tsk, Albert thought to himself.

‘Is she mad at me?’ he wondered.
Albert was just about to knock on the door.
Just then, the maid Heather came upstairs after hearing the commotion.
Spotting Albert, she hurried over and greeted him, “Mr. Campbell, you’re back.”
Albert nodded.

Heather cast a nervous glance at the tightly shut master bedroom door, then spoke in a cautious tone.
“Ms. Finley asked me to let you know that you should sleep in the guest room tonight,” she said.
Albert chuckled.
“So I’m in the guest room, and she’s got the master? Is that it?
“Seriously? First night as a married couple, and she’s already kicking me out? Is that what she wants?” he complained.
Heather lowered her head and nodded. “Yes, that’s what Ms. Finley said.”
Albert couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief.
He didn’t even bother knocking, just made his way to the guest room without another word.
Heather stood frozen for a few seconds before quietly saying, “Mr. Campbell, you’re just…”
‘He’s really just giving in?’ Mya wondered, a bit taken aback.
Albert glanced at her and said in a calm voice, “If she wants us to sleep in separate rooms, am I supposed to force her?”
With that, Albert closed the guest room door.
Heather glanced at the guest room, then at the locked master bedroom, her eyes showing clear annoyance.
‘Seriously, where does Elnora get the guts to kick Mr. Campbell out and hog the master bedroom for herself?” Heather grumbled inwardly, feeling a bit indignant.
Maybe all the chaos at the wedding left Elnora so wiped out that she ended up sleeping like a log last night. way better than she expected.
When she finally woke up and headed downstairs, Albert was already parked at the dining table.
Elnora walked over and took a seat right across from him.
Heather hurried over and served breakfast, placing it in front of Elnora.
Breakfast was just milk and a sandwich.

Elnora glanced at the breakfast, then just picked up the milk.
She didn’t care for sandwiches.
After she sat down, Albert looked up and greeted her.
“Morning,” he said.
Elnora took a sip of her milk and nodded, “Morning.”
They were living together like polite guests, neither overstepping nor intruding.

Albert raised an eyebrow at her reply, quickly suppressing the awkwardness he felt, then put on a smile and started chatting with Elnora.
“Got any plans for today?” he asked.
“I need to head to Starlight,” Elnora replied.
Albert nodded. “Is that all?”
“That’s all,” Elnora replied.
Elnora drank her milk and never touched the sandwich.
Albert finished his breakfast and headed to the living room.
Elnora set her cup down and was just about to get up when Heather quietly muttered to herself, “Funny, Ms. Taylor used to be all about sandwiches. Never thought Ms. Finley wasn’t into them. Well, next time, I’ll just skip the sandwiches.”
