Albert stood quietly to the side, a faint smile playing on his lips, a hint of pride flickering in his eyes. ‘Man, my wife’s really got it.’
By the end of the pool game, Elnora had totally cleaned up.
Even though he lost money, Kaelin was still absolutely thrilled. “Ms. Finley, did you use to play professionally? The way you played just now was so professional, like a real pro.” Watching her play was pure enjoyment.
Elnora shook her head. “No.”
She only played casually with her classmates while she was studying abroad. It was one of her few hobbies.
Benedict leaned over to Kaelin and said, “Ms. Finley’s always busy. When would she ever have time for pool tournaments? She’s just got natural talent.”
Kaelin nodded. “True that.”
Elnora had held the Finley family together for so long, and it just showed how packed her days must be. Some said she even worked herself sick.
The Campbell family really had to pay a hefty price to marry Elnora. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they handed over a 3 billion worth of gifts.
Among all the heiresses out there, none could match Elnora’s grace and poise.
Reese’s taste was spot-on. Her choice of daughter-in-law was always exceptional, and Elnora was truly a cut above the rest.
Once the game wrapped up, Kaelin was already calling for another round, eager to keep the fun going.
Elnora didn’t refuse. Since she was the host, she was determined to stick around and make sure everyone had a great time until they were fully satisfied.
“No thanks. Let’s wrap it up for tonight. I’m feeling a bit tired and want to head home and get some rest,” Albert suddenly said.
When Kaelin heard Albert turn him down, a flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes. Back before Albert got married, he was the king of pulling all-nighters. It wasn’t even midnight yet, and he was already calling it quits.
Albert used to stay up all night and still roll into work the next morning fresh as a daisy. So, Kaelin teased Albert, “Wow, marriage really mellowed you out, huh? You used to be the last one standing, always full of energy. Now you’re saying you’re tired? Who’s gonna believe that?”
Benedict nudged Kaelin with his elbow, laughing. He said, “Come on, Albert and Ms. Finley are still in their honeymoon phase. Of course, they want to head home early and get some rest.

‘Elnora’s attitude must be contagious,’ she thought. After all, Albert never used to act all high and mighty.
Once Albert was back in his room, he went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Meanwhile, Elnora remembered she had left something in the study downstairs, so she went down to grab it.
As she walked down the stairs, she overheard Heather talking quietly on the phone in the corner.
Heather said, “Ms. Taylor, I made the warm coffee you requested for Mr. Campbell. He seemed really pleased and already finished it.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Campbell still has feelings for you.
“He and Ms. Finley are sleeping in separate rooms. What kind of newlyweds do that? Ms. Finley being around doesn’t affect your place in Mr. Campbell’s heart. So don’t worry.”
Heather’s words were partly true. Stella had helped her before, so Heather was returning the favor.
She didn’t want to see Stella get hurt. So, she carefully picked out things to say that would comfort her.
Just as Heather hung up and was about to clean up the coffee, she felt a gaze burning into her from above.
She looked up and saw Elnora standing on the stairs, towering over her, watching her from above.
Heather nearly jumped out of her skin. She stammered, “M-Ms. Finley, why are you still up?”
Elnora’s eyes were cold and aloof, her gaze lingering on Heather’s phone as she spoke in a calm, almost indifferent voice. “I just came down to get something,” she said.
Heather gave an awkward smile. She said, “Let me get it for you, Ms. Finley.”
Elnora probably caught some of her conversation with Stella just now. Her face was tinged with embarrassment, and she felt pretty uncomfortable.
At the same time, Heather muttered to herself, annoyed that Elnora had overheard her call. ‘Why did she have to listen in? That’s just rude.’
Elnora’s voice was calm and almost indifferent. “No, I’ll grab it myself.” With that, she walked off toward the study.
Heather felt a wave of relief wash over her. “Thank goodness, Ms. Finley didn’t make things difficult for me.
Elnora came out of the study, holding what she’d come for. At that moment, Heather was still standing right where she’d been, looking a lot more respectful now, probably feeling guilty for what she’d just done.
Elnora walked past her without so much as a second glance, and Heather felt like Elnora had just given her a pretty unfriendly vibe.
Thinking she might’ve pissed Elnora off, Heather texted Stella right away: [Ms. Taylor, I think I messed up.]
[I’m pretty sure Ms. Finley heard everything we said on the phone. The way she looked at me was terrifying.

Do you think she’s going to fire me?]
Heather’s mom was sick and depended on medication every day. She’d fought hard to land this job, and if she got fired, she wouldn’t be able to afford her mom’s meds anymore. The thought made her start to panic.
