Chapter 645 Care About the Reputation

Elnora avoided Albert’s gaze, then said softly, “I have some work to take care of, so I’ll head back to my

She turned and walked out of Reese’s office.

Albert quickly followed after her.

Reese watched Albert’s retreating figure and shook her head.

office.”

‘Albert’s paying a lot of attention to Elnora these days, but I can’t tell if Elnora has any feelings for him; Reese thought.

She let out a soft sigh, remembering all the stupid things Albert had done recently, and couldn’t help but shake her head again.

‘Maybe this time, Albert’s going to suffer a bit in front of Elnora, Reese mused. ‘But honestly, that’s probably for the best.’

‘It’ll keep him from getting too hung up on loyalty and old feelings, and finally break free from all those unnecessary chains,’ Reese thought.

After Elnora walked into her office, Albert followed right behind her.

Noticing Albert coming in after her, Elnora asked, “Did you finish everything at Supernova Entertainment?” Albert nodded and replied casually, “Yeah, it’s all taken care of. I’ll just let my assistant handle the rest.”

“If nothing unexpected happens, I’ll be at Campbell Group for the time being. Ms. Finley, I’ll be counting on your guidance.”

His expression was full of playful teasing.

Elnora pressed her lips together, walked over to her desk, and sat down. Her voice was cool and detached. ” Truth be told, Mr. Campbell, I should be the one asking for your guidance.”

There was no way Albert would ever neglect his own business.

He definitely knew every project at Campbell Group better than she did.

He even had the whole network of people and connections involved mapped out.

Albert raised an eyebrow, pulled out the chair across from Elnora, and sat down.

“Ms. Finley, have I ever told you how smart you are?” he asked.

Elnora gave a small nod. “You have.”

Albert was momentarily stunned, unable to recall when he’d ever actually praised her.

Noticing his distraction, Elnora shifted her gaze away and turned her attention back to her work.

When Elara came in to report on her work, she was surprised to see Albert in Elnora’s office. But she quickly composed herself.

After finishing her report, Elara left Elnora’s office.

As she walked out, her eyes showed a bit of disappointment. She missed out on her usual gossip session with Elnora.

Normally, after her work reports, she’d always stick around to chat with Elnora about the latest news and gossip.

Most of the rumors and gossip Elnora heard came from these casual chats with Elara.

By the end of the day, Albert was practically glued to Elnora. He barely left her side for a second.

It was like he was on some kind of invisible leash, and if he wandered more than 3 feet away, he’d get zapped. Poor Elara had been bursting to share her gossip with Elnora all day, but with Albert hovering like her shadow, she never got the chance.

Finally, Albert stepped out to take a call, and Elara was just about to dive into some juicy gossip with Elnora-

only for Albert to pop right back in before she could even get started.

Albert noticed Elara standing next to Elnora, looking like she wanted to say something but kept holding back.

He smirked and said, “Let me guess, you’ve been waiting all day to badmouth me but never got the chance?”

‘Is Albert psychic or something?’ Elara wondered.

She was just about to bring up the whole thing between Albert and Stella.

She wasn’t bold enough to talk smack about Albert with Elnora while he was standing right there, so she just forced a smile.

“Of course not,” she replied. “Oh, I just remembered I’ve got some numbers to check. I’ll get back to work.”

“Oh, I just remembered I’ve got some numbers to check. I’ll get back to work,” Elara said, making a quick

escape.

Albert watched Elara walk out, arching his eyebrow with a hint of amusement.

Elnora kept her head down, buried in her work, acting like that little interruption hadn’t even fazed her.

But inside, Albert was on high alert.

He and Elnora had finally gotten closer, and if something messed things up now, knowing her, she’d probably pull back in a heartbeat-maybe even put some distance between them.

Now that he’d gotten a taste of being close to her, Albert had zero interest in going back to their old, hands-off routine.

Pretending to be calm, he sat down across from Elnora and started scrolling through news about himself on his phone.

He nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw what popped up.

Stella had just responded to those Port City media reports accusing Albert of being heartless.

She claimed Albert wasn’t as heartless as they said. He’d even covered her medical expenses.

She even uploaded the payment slip, proving the money came directly from Albert’s account to the hospital.

Albert’s face instantly darkened when he saw the news.

He glanced up at Elnora, saw she was still absorbed in her work, then quickly took a screenshot and sent it to Edwin Levine, Albert’s assistant.

[What the hell is going on? Why isn’t this getting blocked?]

[Don’t you care about your boss’s reputation?]

Edwin was totally baffled when he saw the messages.

At the same time, he grumbled inwardly, ‘Do you even have a reputation to lose? You used to just brush this kind of stuff off like it was nothing!’

Edwin shot back a quick reply to Albert. [Got it, I’ll take care of it right away.)

Albert fired off another text. [Make Stella shut up.]

Edwin said: [Got it.]

After replying to Albert, Edwin immediately reached out to the social media team and asked them to pull the topic off the trending list.

At the same time, he gave Stella a call.

Stella had Edwin’s number saved in her contacts.

When she saw Edwin calling, she picked up immediately. “Hello, Mr. Levine.”

Edwin’s voice was calm and distant as he conveyed Albert’s instructions to Stella.

Edwin said coolly, “Ms. Taylor, you know perfectly well why Mr. Campbell paid your medical bills. It’s simply because you’re still signed with Starlight Entertainment-not because of any personal history between you

two.

“Let’s be real, Mr. Campbell’s just being decent. If any other artist under Starlight Entertainment got sick, he’d cover their medical expenses too. It’s not about you specifically, Ms. Taylor.”

Stella hadn’t expected Edwin Levine to call just to deliver that message. She couldn’t help but take a deep breath before explaining, “Mr. Levine, did the things I posted online cause trouble for Albert?

“I was just frustrated with all the nonsense from Port City media. I know Albert isn’t the kind of person they say he is.”

Edwin’s voice was cool and professional, all business. “Ms. Taylor, the Port City media issue was resolved some time ago, and no one has mentioned it since. Bringing it up again at this point inevitably raises questions about your motives.”

Stella’s grip on her phone tightened unconsciously as she said, “I wasn’t really aware.

“Mr. Levine, you know I’ve been sick, so I’ve been a bit slow catching up with the news online… I’m really sorry.” Edwin replied, “Since you’re not really keeping up with the online news, Ms. Taylor, you should focus on your treatment and recovery.

“Your social media accounts were originally set up by the company, and according to our artist management regulations, the company is responsible for operating them. Therefore, the company will now be managing your accounts directly.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Edwin’s tone was uncompromising, giving Stella no chance to object. He ended the call abruptly and immediately had someone log into her social media accounts, forcing her offline.
