Chapter 646 Standing Up for Elnora
Chapter 646 Standing Up for Elnora
After Edwin hung up on her, Stella stood there, clutching her phone, completely stunned.
She stared blankly at the screen, taking a deep breath.
Just then, Wendelin walked in, fresh from getting Stella’s latest test results from the doctor. She immediately noticed Stella standing there, phone in hand, looking completely out of it.
She asked right away, “What’s wrong, Stella?”
Stella looked up, her face streaked with tears.
Wendelin froze for a moment, concern in her voice as she asked, “Did someone hurt you?”
Stella shook her head, biting her lip and wiping her tears away.
“No one hurt me,” she whispered.
Seeing Stella like this, Wendelin could instantly tell what was behind it.
“Is it Albert’s wife again? Is she giving you a hard time?” Wendelin asked.
Honestly, the only thing that could make Stella shed tears in private was something related to Albert.
Albert and Stella used to be really close. Even after they broke up, things between them stayed pretty chill.
But ever since Albert got married six months ago, everything changed.
Wendelin quickly pinned the blame on Elnora Finley.
That woman clearly treated Stella as a thorn in her side-her nemesis.
“What more does she want from you?” Wendelin snapped, her anger barely contained.
Stella managed a bitter smile. “Wendelin, it really has nothing to do with her.
“I was just feeling a little down for a moment, but I’m okay now. Even if I lost someone I loved, I still have you guys-friends who truly care about me.”
Listening to Stella’s words and seeing her act tough, Wendelin felt even worse for her, and angry on her behalf.
Stella’s life has just been one tragedy after another.
She had been through so much, but never tried to hurt anyone.
Wendelin gently smoothed Stella’s hair and pulled her into a hug. Right then, she swore to herself she’d fight for Stella, even if it meant going up against Albert.

After taking care of everything with Stella and making sure her account was locked down by the company, Edwin sent a message to Albert. [Mr. Campbell, it’s all taken care of.]
As soon as Albert got Edwin’s message, he opened up social media. Seeing that all the posts had disappeared from the trending list, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
He set his phone down and looked up at Elnora, who was sitting across from him, focused on her work.
“Want to take a break?” he asked.
Elnora waved her hand dismissively.
“I’m good,” she replied. “This workload is nothing. I can handle it.”
While replying to Albert, Elnora was already busy texting Elara, shooting off work instructions without missing a beat.
Seeing her so focused, Albert dropped the small talk and zeroed in on his own tasks.
The two barely exchanged a word. When they did, it was strictly business.
Elnora finished up her paperwork before leaving for the day. While Albert was still on the phone by the window, she got up and headed over to Elara to discuss some work matters.

Chapter 646 Standing Up for Elnora
Albert kept watching Elnora out of the corner of his eye. When she walked out of the office, he raised an eyebrow, started to follow her, but stopped after a couple steps.
When he realized he’d acted on impulse, Albert felt a bit exasperated with himself.
He gave a wry smile and continued his call.
After Elnora wrapped up her discussion with Elara, she was about to head out.
Elara hesitated, wanting to say something but stopping herself.
Elnora noticed and asked, her tone neutral, “If you’ve got something to say, just say it.”
Elara pressed her lips together, lowered her voice, and spoke softly. “Stella’s causing drama online again.”
Elnora arched her brow at that.
‘Figures, Elnora thought. ‘That’s just like her.’
After all, Stella wasn’t about to give up on Albert without a fight.
As Elara talked, she pulled up social media.
“Honestly, these media outlets are really brazen,” Elara said. “Mr. Campbell’s already sued some of them, and they still have the nerve to use him as a headline to draw traffic.”
As she spoke, Elara pulled up today’s trending list.
She scrolled all the way to the bottom, but the trending topic she’d seen that morning was nowhere to be found. She raised her eyebrows in surprise.
“Looks like PR stepped in,” Elara said.
She pulled up Stella’s social media profile, and saw that all her posts about Albert had been wiped.
Even some of her old posts had vanished.
Elara let out a low tsk, glanced up at Elnora, and said quietly, “Guess she got a warning.”
Elnora just replied with a cool “Mm” and said, “Stop paying attention to her. It’s a waste of time.”
Elara nodded, “Got it.”
Elnora turned and walked away from Elara’s desk.
Elara watched Elnora’s back as she walked away, her words barely audible.
“Ms. Finley, I just don’t want to see you get hurt again,” she murmured.
Elnora stopped for a moment, then nodded, her reply rough with emotion.
“I know,” she said quietly.
She didn’t slow down at all, heading straight back to her office.
The door to her office was open, and as Elnora stepped inside, she saw Wilbur in her office, deep in conversation with Albert.
As soon as Elnora entered, Wilbur’s tone turned cold. He gave her a sharp glare and said sternly, “Don’t you know how to knock before you barge in?
“I heard Cole is all about rules. Did you forget everything he taught you about manners?”
Elnora didn’t even blink at Wilbur’s accusation. Before Albert could say a word, she replied coolly, “Wilbur, I think you’ve got it wrong. This is my office.”
Wilbur shot back, his voice icy, “I’m just trying to teach you a lesson, and you talk back? You’ve got no respect for your elders.”
Albert frowned, his gaze turning cold.
“Wilbur,” he said, his voice low, “what exactly is your problem with Elnora?”
Wilbur clenched his jaw.

“Albert, don’t defend her,” he snapped. “She’s the wolf your mother invited into our family.”
Albert’s expression turned stormy, his gaze cold as he stared at Wilbur.

“Wilbur, Elnora is my wife,” Albert said. “We’re married. It’s official. I expect you to respect my wife.”
When he saw Albert actually stand up for Elnora, a flicker of something complicated flashed in Wilbur’s eyes.
In his memory, Albert had never really cared whether Elnora was around or not.
He even remembered that when Elnora first joined Supernova Entertainment, the Port City media caused a scene right in front of her, but Albert didn’t say a word in her defense.
To Wilbur, their marriage was just for show.
He figured that once Albert finally saw things clearly, he’d kick Elnora to the curb.
But he didn’t expect that in just half a year, Albert would actually start defending Elnora.
