Chapter 14
“Don’t worry, boss, we definitely won’t damage the mecha. Besides, who could possibly damage our mecha? Our mecha are so powerful.” A guy piloting a fifteen-meter heavyweight mecha tried to butter Terrence up.
Terrence felt quite pleased hearing that. Before the apocalypse, he was already the prince of Riverside, and now that the apocalypse had arrived, he aimed to expand his influence even more.
“Let’s go!” Terrence said with an enthusiastic swing of his hand and led the way into the zoo.
However, when they entered, the scene they saw left them stunned.
“What happened here?” Terrence turned to his lackeys.
If the heaps of metal scraps on the ground belonged to mecha, he wouldn’t be this surprised. They had already experienced the power of mechanical creatures.
There were many mechanical creatures in the mining area, and they had expended considerable effort to clear those out.
The reason Terrence found the sight before him hard to believe was because the metal scraps clearly belonged to mechanical creatures.
If other mechanical creatures had killed these creatures, they would have eaten the remains.
Clearly, someone had dismantled these mechanical creatures.
“Boss, someone’s stealing our prey!” a clever subordinate exclaimed emotionally.
“Let’s go see who it is!”
Terrence was anxious. He had already obtained quite a few Source Crystals and knew how important they were.
His mecha had reached Level 6, and he was looking to upgrade it to Level 10 at the zoo.
If someone had gotten to the zoo first and taken all the Source Crystals from the mechanical creatures, then what about him?
Would he really have to scour every corner of the city for mechanical creatures?
That method was far too inefficient.
Terrence led his lackeys deeper into the zoo.
A large number of mecha running together in a group was quite a sight to behold. The ground shook beneath their feet.
When Victor, who was chasing the monkey king, felt the quake in the ground, he was somewhat surprised.
“What kind of massive creature is causing this?” Victor glanced back.
“Ah, who cares!”
Victor resumed his pursuit, paying no mind to the shaking ground. His only objective was the fleeing monkey king ahead.
The monkey king’s speed was much faster than the speed of ordinary mechanical monkeys. Unfortunately, its pursuer was Victor, an existence whose combat power was nearly ten times its own.

Thus, the monkey king had no chance of escaping.
When Victor got close to the monkey king, the monkey king had no choice but to turn around and face Victor. Its blue eyes flickered with fear.
Yet, it did not give up. It bared its teeth at Victor, attempting to intimidate him.
“Weren’t you smiling a while ago?” Victor asked coldly, unimpressed by the monkey king’s attempt at intimidation.
“Human, spare me,” the monkey king spoke with an electronic synthetic voice imbued with a hint of pleading.
“In your dreams.” Victor wasn’t in the mood to chat. There were still many mechanical creatures waiting for him in the zoo.
Moreover, the quake from behind was growing closer. He didn’t want to risk the monkey king escaping again because he had to face another mechanical creature.
The monkey king tried to say something but was immediately greeted by Victor’s war scythe that crackled with electrical energy.
