Chapter 18

“Bro, help!” Terrence shouted frantically as he ran towards Victor.

The deer herd and the mecha collided with a deafening roar. In the first wave of impact alone, the lights in the eyes of ten mecha dimmed as they lost their lives.

The remaining mecha were also injured. In their current condition, there was no way they could withstand the next wave of attack.

Not even the fifteen-meter heavyweight mecha could do that.

Victor cursed at the wastefulness. Such fine mecha were being squandered by these incompetent fools.

As for saving them?

Why should he?

Just because Terrence was rich?

Before the apocalypse, money might have been valuable, but now…

“Bro, save me! I’ll give you anything you want: money, women, whatever!”

Terrence knew he couldn’t escape the pursuit of the mechanical deer because his piloting skills were no better than those of his lackeys, so he wouldn’t get far before being caught.

At this point, the only one who could save him was Victor.

Only now did Terrence realize how terrifying Victor truly was.

He recalled the heaps of metal scraps he saw upon entering the zoo. How many mechanical creatures had Victor slaughtered to create such destruction?

“I’m not interested in those things. And I’m not your bro, so don’t call me that. My name is Victor Wild. Born to be a victor, born to be wild.”

Victor was indeed being quite wild right now.

Unfortunately, there was no one there to witness it apart from Terrence.

Terrence didn’t care how arrogant Victor was. He only wanted to survive.

“Victor, our family names are similar, so maybe we’re related. If you save me, I’ll definitely repay you. Oh, I have Source Crystals, and I know where to find a high-grade Source Crystal. I’ll let you have all of them.”

Victor couldn’t care less if they were related or not. However, he was intrigued by Terrence’s mention of Source Crystals.

After all, Terrence was supposed to become a top ten fighter. He definitely found more opportunities than just the legendary skill from New Wind Mountain.

If Victor could steal more of Terrence’s opportunities, he would get even closer to his goal of being invincible.

“Get behind me,” Victor ordered Terrence, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Terrence had been waiting for this command. “Okay!” he replied. He didn’t dare utter another word.

However, before Terrence could even move behind Victor, he saw Victor’s mecha leap into the sky, soaring over

him and landing firmly in front of the herd of deer.

By this time, the deer had already taken down most of Terrence’s lackeys, and they looked at Victor with a wild, furious energy because he dared to confront them.

However, the mutated mechanical deer let out a soft call, calming the agitated herd.

“It seems you have some brains. You realized I’m not someone to be taken lightly, huh? But that doesn’t mean I’ll let you go.”

Victor swung the war scythe and sprinted towards the deer herd.

He wouldn’t gain anything from dismantling mecha, but killing mechanical deer would yield tangible rewards.

The herd, which had initially calmed down, erupted in rage when they noticed what Victor was doing.

The prey was attacking the hunters. It was a direct provocation of their authority.

Without waiting for the mutant’s order, the nearest mechanical deer charged at Victor.
