Chapter 713
The mandatory waiting period between Celeste and Trevor finally came to an end amid the anticipation and anxiety of the Lockets and Shaws.
Trevor set off on time for the courthouse that day. But his phone rang when he was on the way.
No one knew what was said on the other end, but his expression changed after answering the call. “Alright, I understand. I’ll head over immediately.” 4
Meanwhile, Celeste arrived at the courthouse right on time.
She waited for half an hour, but Trevor still hadn’t shown up.
Frowning, she called him, but the line was busy. So, she tried a few more times. But the line was still busy.
Her lips were pressed into a thin line as her expression darkened.
Another ten minutes went by, and she was about to call again when Trevor’s call came.
She picked up and spoke coldly, “I’ve been waiting for over half an hour. Why haven’t you-”
Trevor cut her off before she could finish. “Sorry, something happened to my parents.”
Celeste froze.
He then continued in an urgent tone, “I’ve already informed Grandma and handled some emergency matters. I only just found time to return your call.” 2
No matter what, Lincoln and Queenie were Jordyn’s grandparents. They were also Martha’s son and daughter-in-law.
And Lincoln had always treated Celeste decently.
Hearing that something had happened to them, concern immediately rose in her chest. She was about to ask what exactly happened when Trevor briefly explained.
They had encountered a landslide and hadn’t been found yet. So, their condition was still unknown.
After saying that, Trevor added that they would reschedule the divorce procedures and hung up in a hurry without even waiting for a response.
Celeste just stood there, staring at the disconnected call for a long time.
It was only after she snapped back to herself that she turned and headed back to YodaVision.
Matthias called the moment she arrived back at the company. “Everything went smoothly? Have you gotten the certificate?”
“No.”
He was taken aback. “No?”
Celeste briefly explained what had happened.
There was a pause on his end. “In that case, you’ll just have to wait for the next time.”
“Yes.” There was nothing else to be done.
After hanging up, Celeste hesitated about whether to call Martha. 2
She thought that if something really happened to Lincoln, Martha might not be able to bear it. But then again, she must already

So, a call from her might only make things worse.
Therefore, Celeste decided not to call after a moment’s thought. 1
Time passed slowly.
Celeste considered calling Trevor to ask about the situation. But she didn’t after hesitating for a bit.
Instead, she chose to call Jordyn.
If anything serious had happened, Trevor would surely have informed her.
The call connected almost immediately.
“Mom…”
Celeste was just about to ask where she was when Jordyn spoke first, “Mom, I’m at the hospital with Dad… Grandpa and Grandma had an accident. They’re still in the emergency room right now.”
