Zara bit down on her lip, refusing to show any weakness, then shot Daron a determined look. She said in a firm, almost defiant tone,
“We’re tied together now, whether we like it or not. Do you really think I get to back out now?”
Daron chuckled, a broad grin on his face.
‘Glad you understand,” he said.

Zara bit down hard on her lip, forcing herself to look away from Garret.

Zara took a deep breath, biting down hard on her lip.

But right after that, she got hit with a violation notice and her account got slapped with a seven-day ban.

Zara gritted her teeth.

Marina quietly closed the door behind her and walked in.
Just then, Daron finished his call and turned around. When he saw Marina, he rubbed his temples and said softly,
“I’m fine, really. Don’t worry about me.”
Marina nodded softly.
“I know things will work out, but it’s still pretty chaotic right now. So I came by to see if you need any help,” she said.
Marina had already called to check on Garret’s situation. He was still being questioned, but bail would be possible in twenty- four hours.
Marina knew Garret wasn’t the kind to act impulsively. Even knowing how close Zara and Daron had become recently, he still hadn’t guarded himself against her.
The fact that Daron hadn’t arranged for a lawyer to meet with Garret yet. It was a clear sign of his confidence in how things would play out.
Daron came over to Marina and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
“Just having you here with me is already a huge help,” he said softly.
“I’m sorry for trying to juggle everything before and putting you through all that,” he added.
“Marina, I never thought they’d be such a pain,” Daron let out a sigh.
Marina looked up at Daron, biting her lip lightly before speaking in a quiet voice.
‘Honestly, I didn’t want you to have to feel what I felt,” she said.
‘But with people like that, seeing their true colors early on is actually a blessing in disguise for you.”
As she spoke, Marina reached out and hugged Daron.
‘People who come to you for their own interests from the very start will always walk away once there’s nothing left for them,” she said softly.
‘It’s not that you’re lacking or did anything wrong. They turned on you for profit. Don’t let them mess with your head,” she added.
Daron nodded, a cold edge flashing in his eyes.
“Alright,” Daron replied.
He’d already made up his mind to let them go, thinking he could end things peacefully and close the chapter on all those years they’d spent together.
But he never expected they’d go so far. Not even bothering to leave themselves a shred of dignity.
Since that was how they wanted to play it, there was no more playing nice.
