Albert paused for a few seconds after hearing Ludwig’s words, then finally shook his head.
“No need,” Albert replied.
‘It’s only half a month. I can use this time to settle my emotions, he thought to himself.
After ending the call with Ludwig, Albert got in his car and headed straight to Supernova Entertainment.
Albert had barely set foot in Supernova Entertainment when his phone lit up with a call from Stella.
He glanced at the caller ID, hung up without hesitation, and blocked her number in one smooth motion.
The Taylor Family must have caught wind of what Albert was up to, so they started pulling every string they could, trying to get someone to plead with him face-to-face.
Whenever Albert answered a call and heard the words “Taylor Family,” he’d hang up right away. After a while, nobody dared to call him for favors anymore.
Albert spent most of his days at the Campbell Group lately, only dropping by Supernova Entertainment now and then.
After work, he headed straight back to Southview Residence, sticking to a routine even more than Elnora ever did when she was in Port City.
It was the fifth day of Elnora’s business trip.
Albert still hadn’t received a single message from her.
Unable to take it anymore, Albert finally picked up his phone and called Elnora.
The call was picked up almost instantly.
Albert pressed the phone to his ear, his heart racing with anticipation.
Before he could even say a word, a wave of romantic soft music drifted through the speaker.
Elnora put the phone to her ear. When Albert stayed silent, she finally spoke, “What’s up, Mr. Campbell?”
Albert listened to Elnora’s usual cool voice, pursed his lips, and murmured, “Ms. Finley, you’ve been away for five days and haven’t called home once. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten you still have a husband waiting for you?”
Elnora caught a strong hint of complaint in Albert’s tone.
Her gaze cooled as she answered in a calm voice, “Sorry, I’ve been busy.”
As soon as Elnora replied to Albert, she heard her college classmate calling her name from nearby.
“Elnora, long time no see.”
Elnora had studied in Frency for a while. Since she finished work early today, she’d arranged to meet up with a former classmate.
When Elnora saw her former classmate, a smile instantly lit up her face.
“Hi, Liam,” said Elnora.
While greeting her former classmate, Elnora hung up on Albert without a second thought.
Albert fell silent.
‘Liam? That’s definitely a guy’s name, Albert thought, jealousy prickling at him.
Albert felt his blood boil with irritation.
He opened up his chat with Elnora and fired off a message.
[No time to call me, but you’ve got time to go out with someone else, huh?]
Elnora glanced at Albert’s message, didn’t reply, and put her phone away.
She was having dinner with Liam today because the Campbell Group’s business in Frency happened to overlap with Liam’s company.

Kailee refused to let the Taylor Family drag Stella away. She threw herself in their path, blocking them with everything she had.
“Stella is my student. I won’t let you take her, no matter what,” Kailee declared, her voice unwavering.
Seeing Kailee still trying to get in their way, Arnetta’s face darkened. She gave Kailee a shove.
Kailee stumbled back a few steps.
Just then, Albert got out of his car and reached out to steady Kailee.
Kailee looked at Albert like he was her last hope and rushed to him.
“Albert, you can’t let them take Stella away. If they won’t let her get treatment, it’s like they’re signing her death warrant! Please, you have to stop them,” she said, her voice urgent.
When Arnetta and Belinda saw Albert, their faces changed subtly.
Arnetta glanced at Belinda, who immediately stepped forward, blocking Stella from looking at Albert.
Belinda said coldly, “Mr. Campbell, this is Taylor Family business. You and Stella have been over for a long time. You have no business interfering in Taylor Family matters.
“If you insist on getting involved, you’ll be responsible for her for the rest of her life.”
Albert’s eyes were icy as he gave Belinda a cold stare.
He said coldly, “When did I ever say I was going to take care of her?”
Arnetta curled her lips into a cold smirk, shooting Stella a mocking glance as she said, “Stella, did you hear that? Mr. Campbell said he’s not going to help you.
“So stop fighting it and just come home with us like a good girl.
“Quit wasting everyone’s time and money at the hospital. Face reality already.”
